So my sources tell me that Winston only extended offers to Howrey's partners to join the new Howinston LLP. Winston has supposedly said next to nothing to associates yet. I would love to hear from a Howrey associate about his or her thoughts or what has been shared about how Howrey's current associates will fit into Howinston. What about staff?

There is a conference for all associates today. Details should be forthcoming.
ReplyDeleteExcellent. Please encourage folks to spread the word.
ReplyDeleteI think Winston is in the driver's seat here, so instead of "Howinston", I like "Winston Strowrey".
ReplyDeleteGood point, and very funny.
ReplyDeleteIf Winston is in the driver's seat, I think Howrey is the dead deer in the back of the pickup truck.
... or maybe the wounded deer chasing the truck and begging to be allowed to ride in back.
ReplyDelete"Please take me! Don't leave me behind! You complete me!"
My understanding is that the Associate call is off for this morning and is rescheduled for next week.
ReplyDeleteNot good. I wish all Howrey associates and staff well throughout this bizarre situation.
ReplyDeleteWhen's the call? Is it going to be just associates or all staff?
ReplyDeleteAssociates call is on Monday, Staff call is on Tuesday
ReplyDeleteWhat about current 3Ls with offers? Can we do a post on them? Given how tight the job market is and how these people have no real marketable skills, I could see them getting screwed.
ReplyDeleteAny news on associates meeting??
ReplyDeleteThe lawyers will all be ok. What about the people like Charlie and Wilson, who have been there almost 30 years moving us around, or Al the singing mail deliverer, whom nobody else would hire? Or the floaters and secretaries not fortunate enough to work for a partner who will take her with them? Those will be the casualties if Howrey as we know it goes down, and those are the people all of us should be worried about. All of the revenge postings do those people a disservice.
