Info please

Hey, Bobby R - You sent an email to reassure us that Howrey is a family.

Hey, Dicky B - You sent a "me too" email comparing us to troops about to sublimate something.

Well, most family divorces and most of the military operations of France proceed more smoothly than this.

Could we have some info please?

  2. The Sharktank article is interesting. Tom Nolan's departure was a "canary in the coal mine" considering he was #2 at Howrey. I left shortly thereafter for many, many reasons.

I heard that one of the reasons that pushed Nolan over the edge was some sort of snub over a wedding invitation. Like Ruyak's kid was getting married and didn't invite the Nolans. Anyone have a better memory than me?

  3. B-but the reason given for Nolan's departure for Skadden was to spend more time with family- are you telling me that's not true? :)

  4. The Sharktank article provides some insight into what was, for me, the biggest mystery so far:  why no antitrust partners had jumped ship.  Good to see that group (mostly) sticking together.  Anybody have any idea where Alan Wiseman is going?

Also, this must really sting for lower-rung equity partners.  If PPP last year was $550K, some partners must have been clearing, what, $350-$400K?  And their draws presumably would have been lower than that.  Cut that by another 20% and you might have senior associates pulling in bigger paychecks than some share partners.

  6. Here's an article from 1993 that paints an eerily similar picture to that of the current Howrey situation.

  7. the '70 partners' lost is way understated. if only howrey would update the website to reflect the true # of partners (+ associates) who have left, you'd see the firm is WAY smaller than is being advertised. then again, by the time blogs post about partners leaving (martha gooding for example), the doors will be shutting already.

  8. The Brobeck article posted @ 11:59 is eerie indeed. It was 2003 not 1993 though. Eerie too that in LA Howrey took over the Brobeck space. Maybe Tower Snow and Bobby R were twins separated at birth. Both seem to have ended up as meglomaniacs who destroyed firms that had been conservative and highjly reputable, verging on great at times.
