AmLaw Daily just ran this article. It looks like the end is nigh. If anyone has any news about what's going on (or not) at Howrey, please feel free to post.
What's going on with associates and staff in the wake of the supposed 75% partner offer rate from Winston?
Article in today's Recorder states that Ruyak and Winston managing partner, at yesterday's partnership meeting, urged partners with offers to take them ASAP.
ReplyDeleteHow much did those stupid "Ghost Stories" cost? Any way to post them on youtube?
ReplyDeleteAnd if the Howrey non-equity partners do accept the offers quickly (this month), what happens to their right to collect the 15% of their compensation that Howrey annually "holds back" until March? Do they give up any chance of seeing that money?
ReplyDeleteAnd what about those Howrey non-equity partners who have earned the 15% hours bonus? Is Howrey going to honor that committment at all, especially if the partners accept their offers with W&S? I would think Ruyak/Bolen should explain these points right up front since it impacts any decision to accept the offers, but my understanding is that they have not.
ReplyDeletestaff who aren't working for partners are left sol. those with left over pto are going to lose it most likely. good luck getting the 15%. i see bk happening. now if only the law blogs would stop being 2+ weeks behind howrey news. it's not that hard to get 'inside' news, but none of the blogs post it until it's too little too late.
ReplyDeleteI'd expect it be a choice 15% holdback or a job. Plus, it is very unlikely Howrey's remaining equity partners would pay those holdbacks if they have other obligations that will come out of their pockets.
ReplyDeleteHowrey deserves it. It's always nice when the lawyers finally get what they deserve.
