This is Howrey's Final Week

It's difficult to believe that Howrey will very likely announce its death this week.  This once proud firm, member of the American Lawyer's A-List and possessor of truly outstanding antitrust and intellectual property professionals, will soon be but a memory.  This week, expect to hear a lot of news.

In the meantime, you can read about old news in this WaPo article published today.

Good luck to everyone.  We all deserved better than this.

  1. As an outside observer, I find the way Ruyak & Co. has left Howrey employees hanging out to dry utterly sickening. I thought you were all a "family."

  2. It would be nice if someone could provide info about the DC people NOT going to Winston. What is happening to them?

  3. Family? Yeah, if family lies through its teeth to one another, disowns them when its no longer helping them rake in $1M per year, backstabs each other left and right, then YEAH.

If my family treated me the way certain Howrey partners did, Id consider myself an orphan.

  5. @10:22, I couldn't agree more. "Family" is one word that I never associated with the Howrey culture.

  6. Howrey looks a lot like Egypt or Libya, with Ruyak playig the part of Mubarak or Quadafi - the decent people have gone and he remains in splendid isolation from his "family" and reality.

  7. I just read Mr. Ruyak's bio. He doesn't use Oxford commas! I knew there was something untrustworthy about him, but I hadn't been able to put my hoof on it until now.

  8. What in the world is an Oxford comma anyway?

  10. as an aside, people who do not use oxford commas want the terrorists to win.

That is quite an aside! I don't know whether I should moo, kick over an oil lamp, or jump over the moon. (NOT that I've ever done any of those things.)

  12. Was just told by one of the powers that be in our office not to believe all of the hype on the blogs, not to jump the gun and that things will be ok. Yeah, I feel much better now.

  13. @ANONYMOUS: WHICH OFFICE? IF RUYAK AND THE "BOYZ" ARE THE POWERS THAT BE, DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE. HOWREY IS GOING DOWN THE DRAIN LIKE DRAINO GOING DOWN A "STOPPED UP TOILET". HOW CAN YOU SIT THERE AND WAIT IT OUT? OH YEAH, DON'T FEEL BETTER. YOU'RE GET YOUR LETTER AMONG OTHERS IF YOU'LL GO WITH YOUR PARTNER TO WINSTON, GO WITH ANOTHER FIRM OR YOUR BUNS ARE OUT THE DOOR WITH NO J.O.B. TRUST RUYAK KNEW THIS WAS COMING ESPECIALLY WHEN WE HAD THOSE QUARTERLY MEETINGS WITH ALL THE POWER POINT FANCY CHARTS PROJECTING ALL THE BUSINESS AND REVENUES....NOT!!!!!
