  5. As expected, any Howrey employees that remain are being fucked out of their PTO and WARN payments.

"We did not foresee this outcome. It was Howrey’s intent to continue salary and benefits pursuant to our WARN obligations, but our ability to do so was contingent upon the approval of Citibank. We know that this is extremely difficult information to receive. We regret this action and wish you success in your future endeavors."

Bull shit. Let the lawsuits begin.

  6. Howrey website says :

Effective March 15, 2011, the partners of Howrey LLP voted to dissolve the law firm. The partnership appointed a Dissolution Committee which oversees the day to day operations of the wind down of the partnership’s business. All Howrey’s offices are scheduled to close. The firm will maintain a small office to house the staff handling the wind down of operations.

  7. It will be interesting to see if Robert Ruyak ever works again. Oh yeah, he's going to dedicate himself to finding new jobs for all those who were left behind. What's really sad is that some staff members actually believed this when he said it. What's even more pathetic is when his partners heard him say this during a meeting - not one of them stood up to him. They swallowed the bullshit he's been feeding them for years.

Bob I hope you're in the DC office tomorrow. I will be checking in on you to make sure you keep your promise and find those jobs. If you're a man then you will keep your word. Make your amends - otherwise I don't know how you can stand to live with yourself. If I were related to you I'd be ashamed to have the same last name. Do your family a favor - especially your grandkids and make your amends to all those you screwed.

  9. Remaining staffers are getting screwed out of their PTO. The firms 401K contribution will most likely not happen.

  10. It's the EXACT same group at Citibank running things again as they did for Thelen. Howrey even hired the same lawyer from Latham to represent them. At least Thelen had the balls to negotiate with the bank over extending COBRA availability as long as the wind down group kept working (which ended up being about 10 months). Otherwise those with pre-existing conditions and no job are screwed and probably unable to even GET health insurance. ASK for it Howrey dissolution committee! Appeal to their banker's cold cold heart and bring up the precedent with Thelen.

  11. Well, Bob Ruyak's master plan has worked. Sure, there have been some stormy seas, as old Navy hand Dick Beckler observed. But, as Sean Boland noted, those tough times have resulted in a leaner, tougher Howrey better prepared to execute on its business plan. Bob, Dick, and Sean have now left the building. For more details on Howrey's future business plan, please email wind-down@howrey.com.

  12. Let the lawsuits begin!
Stephanie Langley, a former records specialist at Howrey, has sued the firm for failing to pay WARN Act wages after she was terminated on March 31. The putative class action seeks an undetermined amount in salary and benefits for the plaintiffs, as well as attorneys' fees.
