According to an article in the Washington Business Journal, 35-year Howrey veteran Roger Klein left Howrey when he realized that the end of Howrey was near. The article states that Klein decided to leave once he found it "unlikely" that Howrey could continue on its own.
So if a 35-year Howrey veteran bailed once he realized the end was near, WHAT'S TAKING EVERYONE ELSE SO DANG LONG? Doesn't Howrey's rapidly shrinking roster of attorneys realize that the longer they wait, the more they will exacerbate their debt obligations and diminish their bargaining power? How can so many esteemed attorneys be acting so amazingly against their self-interests? Time is money and of the essence, people.
My only conclusion is that something has gone seriously awry with the negotiations with Winston.
My bedbugs ate the agreement...

ReplyDeleteDavid Buoncristiani is still on the website.
ReplyDeleteThe deal crashed - no one of value wanted to go to W&S.
ReplyDelete@6:53, source?
ReplyDeleteThe defecting partners should be more patient. What is WRONG with them?

The partners voted to dissolve today. It's official.
ReplyDeleteI guess everyone knew Winston's days were numbered.
ReplyDelete@10:02 11/12 inside, 18/12 out.
ReplyDeletePerhaps when called for comment Boland/Ruyak can work in "Boom. Winning. Power of Focus." Goodness knows that the line between mgmt and Charlie Sheen is getting thinner and thinner...
ReplyDelete10:02 Winston's days numbered? Check their website. Says they have been around for more than 150 years.
ReplyDeleteCheck your sarcasm meters, people.
ReplyDeleteYeah everybody - Winston is in GREAT shape; that's why with one look at their books everyone who had something to lose ran for the hills.
ReplyDeleteThat, my friend, was sarcasm.
Your conclusion, as usual, is wrong. There were a number of conflicts that weren't initially apparent, they're going through one by one, those that can't get worked out are forcing attorneys to go elsewhere if they want to keep clients. Do you have any inside knowledge of this situation at all?
ReplyDeleteMy conclusions, as usual, are wrong... I guess that's why last year's bonus put me in a 911 Turbo with change left over for three carats for my boo?
ReplyDelete5:53 If you are such a superstar why have you not already left with one of groups that has already set up shop elsewhere? And if you have left, why do you read this blog? Nothing better to do at your new digs?
